AKBAR BIBB
localwide president
-
I'm Akbar Bibb and I'm running with TEAM Organize2Win to be SEIU 1021's next localwide President. I aim to transform our local into a transparent, member-driven union that increases engagement and accountability. My vision is to meet our members where they are—whether at work, their community, or beyond.
Your union should stand with you 24/7—not just during negotiations or in emergencies. Members should feel the union's presence every day in every worksite. Our union shouldn't wait for crises before responding—we should prevent them before they occur. We should make sure members have the tools to organize, fight, and win—not just file grievances. Leaders should be reachable, able to teach others, and provide the follow-up you need,
Team Organize2Win is committed to providing the tools and training members need to organize for better working conditions. We need to both win but also enforce powerful contracts. We need to take back political power by investing in member political training showing the billionaires who are pushing our voices out of our communities that we will not be silenced.
Please support me and TEAM Organize2Win with your vote. Let's build a union that fights for us all.
Champagne Brown
VP OF politics
-
I'm running with TEAM Organize2Win to bring transparency, engagement, and accountability for members to the forefront of our union. As VP of Politics, I want to work to empower our community, strengthen our collective voice, and reclaim our union's power. Through open communication and active member involvement, I will build the coalitions we need to tackle the issues that matter. We’ll develop a powerful political program that engages, educates, and mobilizes members and prepares us to stand strong to win on the issues that matter.
Years of experience in social services and political activism have prepared me to fight for working families at every level of government. As acting president of San Francisco’s Human Services Agency chapter and Contra Costa COPE co-chair, I’ve led campaigns, including the re-election of Contra Costa District Attorney Diana Becton, and I am currently managing the Measure G campaign to benefit our El Cerrito 1021 members. In 2023, I received BWOPA’s Ella Hill Hutch Award and was named "Volunteer of the Year" by the Contra Costa Democratic Party.
With your support, I’ll ensure every member feels the union’s presence daily and is empowered to shape our future. Please vote TEAM Organize2Win.
Brandon Dawkins
VP OF ORGANIZING
-
I am Brandon Dawkins, Vice President of Organizing for SEIU 1021, and I'm running for re-election with TEAM Organize2Win.
Over the past 2.5 years, we've achieved significant organizing wins across our local and beyond. We've welcomed over 1,500 workers into our union under my leadership from Santa Clara University, Peet’s Coffee, California Academy of Sciences, Planned Parenthood, 20 Starbucks stores, and beyond. We've successfully passed SB 525, raising the minimum wage to $25 an hour for healthcare workers plus a $1,000 retention bonus, and AB 1228, raising the minimum wage for fast-food workers to $22 an hour.
I'm seeking your support for re-election because we're far from finished. We must meet our international union’s goal of organizing a million workers over the next ten years and our local's goal of bringing in 1,000 new workers a year. TEAM Organize2Win will also ensure our members feel the support and presence of the union every day in their workplaces.
Together, let's take back our union by electing a team who is committed to providing members with the tools and resources to better organize their own worksites—because when we organize, we win. Please support me and #TeamO2W with your vote.
sandra wall
VP OF representation
-
My name is Sandra Wall. I'm a long-time employee at Contra Costa County, a mother of three, and a dedicated executive board member. I'm proud to announce my candidacy for Vice President of Representation at SEIU 1021 and am running with TEAM Organize2Win.
My union journey began as chapter secretary, eventually serving as chapter president for Contra Costa County, where our team led one of the strongest organizing strikes in county history. Together, we challenged management and delivered on the demands our members fought for. I have extensive experience representing members in disciplines, meet-and-confers, and arbitrations, and I’m driven to build a stronger union where every member feels the union’s power daily.
Earlier this year, I assisted Solano County members in tackling critical challenges, and I’m honored to continue this work. If elected, I’ll work to empower members and ensure they have the tools and support needed to win and enforce powerful contracts. I’m asking for your vote for me and our slate, TEAM Organize2Win, as we work to bring real representation and make every member strong and confident in our union.
Together, we will organize to win the representation every member deserves.
tiffany abuan
secretary
-
My name is Tiffany M. Abuan, and I am fiercely dedicated to creating workplaces rooted in justice and advancing a labor movement that is truly member-driven. In my role as Chief Steward at Tides Network, I helped secure the first Exclusive Provider Organization medical plan option for employees outside of California, ensuring comprehensive healthcare access for our chapter. I’m currently on the negotiating team for our new CBA, and last year, I was on the negotiations team for a reopener to achieve pay equity, with over half our team receiving salary increases averaging 12%. I also championed the removal of a toxic manager through an escalating action campaign, promoting a healthier work environment.
Along with my other chapter leaders, I am working on worker empowerment, enhanced paid family leave, COVID safety protocols, and stipends for commuting. I am passionate about fostering a culture of gender respect and affirmation, working closely with leaders from our LGBTQ+ Employee Resource Group (ERG) both at work and, if elected, for the Local. Similarly, through collective action, I encouraged management to take a stand for peace by signing the Funders4Ceasefire letter.
With 11 years in nonprofit fundraising and four years in philanthropy, including advising on climate and racial justice initiatives, I bring a collaborative, mission-driven approach. I am dedicated to creating meaningful change and supporting employees in a positive and inclusive workplace. I would be honored to serve as your Secretary.
nicole christian
social and economic justice chair
-
My name is Nicole Christian, and I'm running for Social & Economic Justice Chair with TEAM Organize2Win.
I’ve had the privilege of serving as your Social & Economic Justice (SEJ) Committee Chair for SEIU 1021 for three years. In this role, I’ve worked to uplift members, their families, and our communities by creating learning opportunities, organizing special events, and empowering members to find their voices and challenge the status quo.As Chair, I represent members across our local and actively promote the caucuses and committees under the SEJ umbrella. Continuing this work is vital to me because it engages and empowers both current and emerging leaders to drive positive change. I believe in transparency, honesty, and accountability to our membership, and I am committed to working with all of you to advance justice and equity for all.
As a rank-and-file member leader based in San Francisco, I am honored to serve our entire membership on the Executive Board. With Team Organize2Win, I will continue fighting to make our union a powerful force that supports and strengthens every member, every day.

My name is Elizabeth Harrison and I'm running for VP of Region A. As your current Area Representative for Region A, it has been my honor to represent you on the Executive Board and in our community. I am committed to empowering and inspiring our members to achieve real victories.
RegionA deserves a VP with grace, influence, and a strong resolve to drive growth and empowerment for all members of SEIU 1021. With Team Organize2Win, I am dedicated to fostering a union where every member feels supported and equipped to face challenges head-on.
In 2019, I served on the Budget and Finance Committee, where I helped steward our hard-earned membership dues responsibly. Currently, I serve on the Appeals Committee, carefully reviewing cases denied arbitration, and was recently elected Chapter President by our Solano County members.
I have seen that genuine engagement and accountability are more critical than ever. It’s time we have leadership that members can trust, holding each of us to the highest standard expected of these honorable positions.

I'm David Crosby and I'm proud to be running with TEAM Organize2Win for SEIU 1021's Vice President of the East Bay.
With over 30 years in government and non-profit service, I've dedicated my life to social equity and positive change—values we all share at SEIU 1021. If elected, I'll bring my advocacy, collaboration, and leadership skills to serve our union.
Accountability, transparency, and member engagement are critically important, and SEIU 1021 owes this to our members. Let's ensure our union leadership is committed to representing members’ needs, fighting for equitable working conditions, and promoting fairness within our political processes. kristin hardy

-
My name is Kristin Hardy, and I’m running with the TEAM Organize2Win slate as Vice President for Region D (SF). As a union activist with SEIU 1021, I currently serve as Vice President for the San Francisco region and work for the San Francisco Department of Public Health as a Birth & Death Clerk.
Throughout my union journey, I’ve fought tirelessly for livable wages and safe, fair working conditions for all. My work in social and economic justice across the region has prepared me to lead, and I’m excited to bring this experience to the role of Vice President.
As a proud union leader, I’ve organized worksites and recruited members to become shop stewards and leaders within their chapters. SEIU 1021 needs leadership that champions equity and fairness for all workers, and I am ready to continue this fight.
SEIU 1021 must lead on social, economic, and racial justice. Together, we will fight for affordable housing, healthcare, LGBTQQIP2SAA rights, universal childcare, and pay equity for women. We need bold action on climate change and a just transition for workers into a green economy. Let’s build a union that uplifts every member, every day.
taffie walter
region e (sjc/calaveras/amador)
-
Hello, my name is Taffie Walter, and I am running for re-election as Regional VP on the TEAM Organize2Win (teamorganize2win.org) slate.
It has been an honor to represent Region E as your Vice President on the executive board over the past three years, and I look forward to building on our progress together. Region E has led the way with the Together We Rise (TWR) program, which has become a model for other regions thanks to its success in fostering unity and strength across our union.
With 20 years at San Joaquin County Behavioral Health Services as a Psychiatric Technician, I’ve developed strong communication skills, a dedicated work ethic, and the ability to navigate challenging situations. I remain a committed advocate for Region E members, focused on equitable pay, safe working conditions, and access to the resources and support we all deserve.
I’ve consistently engaged members, encouraged participation in union activities, and prioritized responsiveness. If re-elected, I will continue this commitment, working to empower members and reinforce our union’s presence in every workplace. Together, with Organize2Win, we’ll ensure that every member’s voice is heard and respected.

industry chairs
Moises vega
san francisco industry chair
-
I’m Moises Vega, your current Budget & Finance Representative, running to be your next San Francisco City & County Industry Chair with the Team Organized 2 Win (teamorganize2win.org)
As your SF Industry Chair, I will be fully dedicated to standing with you during negotiations to strengthen our contracts and secure better protections for all members. I will work closely with Area Representatives and chapter leaders to organize new members, expand our union’s reach, and ensure that every member has a voice in shaping our future.
My focus will be on improving the overall standards for our members by sharing key resources, information, and strategies that encourage greater member engagement and participation. I am committed to fostering collaboration among chapter leaders across San Francisco City & County, creating opportunities to share best practices, exchange ideas, and build stronger, more effective chapters.
To achieve our goals, it’s vital that we stay connected and united. By building solidarity and harnessing the collective power of our membership, we can create lasting improvements for all of us. I’m excited for the opportunity to work with you to strengthen our union and continue making meaningful progress. Together, we can drive positive change for everyone.
Will Sprague
courts industry chair
-
I’m Will Sprague, Chapter President, Chief Steward, and Information Systems Specialist at the Solano Superior Court. I am running for the office of Courts Industry Chair as a member of TEAM Organize2Win.
I have worked multiple jobs before and I truly believe sacrificing 40 hours a week to work is more than enough and our members deserve to live in dignity. It's essential that we have a union strong and responsive enough to win and enforce strong contracts to make this possible.
I have experienced firsthand the value of listening to my members, collaborating to explore different perspectives, and collectively deciding the best course of action. I believe a union should work for its members, and represent them to the best of its ability. I plan to do just that as Courts Industry Chair. If we compare notes across our court chapters, we will find a plethora of both great and less great similarities and differences in our contracts and the struggles we encounter. These common factors and contrasts are essential tools at the bargaining table and beyond, and I will serve as the bridge between chapters to supply them.
jeffery dix
private sector/nonprofit industry chair
-
I am running with the Transparency Engagement Accountability for Members (TEAM) Organized2Win Slate.
I am a member from Regional Center of the East Bay with four years’ experience as chapter president and multiple in other positions. I have also been chair of the SEIU CA Developmental Disabilities Council for multiple years. In this council we empower chapters from across the state from Locals 1021, 721, and 521 with legislative work, funding research, and collaboration in bargaining.
As a former direct service provider (DSP), I understand the struggle of balancing activism with low paid work and multiple jobs. I hope to use this 1021 Industry Chair role to empower chapters that have been unfortunately neglected, such as multiple direct service provider (DSP) developmental disability chapters.
As a member of 1021 Members for Palestine, I will use this position to ensure our board follows through with our commitment to Palestinian liberation within our ceasefire and divestment resolutions. 1021 has to be a member-run local to be democratic and I will ensure that in my role. I will be a resource for members to contact directly for legislative/legal analysis, policy, and help resolving issues that arise from our staff being overworked.
antonaé robertson
education industry chair
-
My name is Antonaé Robertson, President of the SFUSD Chapter, and I’m honored to be a candidate for the Executive Board on the TEAM Organize2Win slate. I approach this role with determination and a commitment to ensure our voices remain central in our Union’s work. Transparency, Equity, Accountability, and Member dedication are the pillars that I believe drive our union’s success.
Together, through collaborative leadership, our team has fought for and won substantial gains: fair wages, improved working conditions, and respect for SEIU 1021 members at SFUSD. Leading our campaign, we achieved a landmark 16% wage increase—the largest in our chapter’s history—restoring dignity to the hardworking members who served our community throughout the pandemic.
Real change demands boldness, persistence, and a willingness to challenge systems that fall short. I’m prepared to bring that same energy to the Executive Board, where my commitment to education workers remains unwavering. If elected, I will continue building solidarity by amplifying our voices at every level, ensuring members’ concerns are front and center.
It would be an honor to represent you on the E-Board and to earn your vote as we work to strengthen our union together.
brenda barros
healthcare industry chair
-
My name is Brenda Barros and I am running with TEAM Organize2Win (organize2win.org) to be your next Healthcare Industry Chair.
For over 45 years, I have dedicated myself to health advocacy, championing healthcare access for all—supporting families, communities, counties, and our entire state.
Through decades of hands-on experience, I have witnessed the troubling disparities in healthcare, particularly affecting our underserved communities. My commitment as Health Care Industry Chair is to ensure that our children and elders receive quality care across all levels of the healthcare system, guided by compassion and equity.
I also believe strongly in nurturing the next generation of leaders within our industry, recognizing that a sustainable and effective healthcare system depends on skilled, empathetic leadership committed to the well-being of all.
Together, we can build a healthier, more inclusive future.

ESPAÑOL + PORTUGUES: https://shorturl.at/mKSNf
I am Arlétte Jácome and I am running with TEAM Organize2Win (teamorganize2win.org). Currently, I am chapter president at Regional Center of the East Bay, a COPE delegate, and co-chair of SEIU CA Developmental Disabilities Council. I will represent Alameda’s voices, specifically the revolutionary spirit among rank-and-file. I will be easily accessible to discuss important issues in Alameda County and will ensure Alameda County members have access to leadership whenever needed. As your area representative, I will promote boldness and use our political endorsements as a tool and leverage for union power.
I am a youthful and leftist voice that will restore unionist socialist values and regnite radicalism in our local so we can use our union power, whether we are fighting our employers or advocating for important political issues that affect our communities and the world. Let’s not settle for less. As a member of 1021 Members for Palestine, I will embolden the anti-genocide and anti-war movement within labor. It is important to me that our local is not beholden to the democratic party. I will lead with humility and involve the union tenets of collectivism, democracy, international solidarity and anti-capitalism.

-
My name is Richard Thoele, and I’m excited to seek re-election as Alameda County Area Representative with the support of TEAM Organize2Win. Over two terms as chapter president at Peralta Community Colleges and two terms as your Area Representative, I have been committed to standing up for members’ rights and ensuring your voices are heard at every level.
I believe that every chapter across Alameda County deserves strong, consistent support and better interconnectivity. Together, we can strengthen collaboration among schools, nonprofits, and other sectors, building the solidarity needed to elevate contract standards across similar chapters and create a truly unified union.
I’m proud to have represented you at every executive board meeting, to have joined you on the picket lines, and to have marched against oppression here at home and in occupied Palestine. With your support, we can continue building a union that empowers and uplifts every member.
Transparency, engagement, and accountability for members (TEAM) are essential for effective representation. I am committed to upholding these values through regular updates, open feedback forums, and decisions that reflect the true needs and priorities of our members. Thank you for your continued support!

I'm Sharon Richardson and I am running for SEIU 1021's Area Representative for Calaveras County with Team Organize2win.
I have worked for the county for 6 years as an Eligibility Specialist with HSA and have discovered that I enjoy being a public servant and helping my community. I became a Union Steward and found that this love of service also extends to being an advocate for my co-workers. I applied for and was extended the opportunity to be an intern with SEIU 1021. I spent 3 months learning how to be an organizer and a strong union leader. I have the tools to hold management and our union representatives accountable.
I would like to put that education into practice as your representative on the Executive Board. I would like to show that our little county has a voice, and it should be a part of the conversation. I want to bring information and insight back to our members so you are aware of what our union is doing for our membership. I am asking you to vote for me so that I can make sure that we are represented and not just a face in the crowd.
kevin godwin

-
My name is Kevin Godwin, and I'm running with TEAM Organize2Win for Napa Area Representative for SEIU 1021.
As a union steward for seven years, I've fought to protect our members’ rights and amplify our collective voice. I want to continue ensuring fairness and justice in the workplace.
Our union journey begins with a dream of respect, fair wages, and dignity for all workers. But dreams alone don't bring change. We must organize and unite our voices to turn that dream into reality. Together, we'll take back our union, ensuring members feel its presence every day.
When Governor Newsom threatened to cut $300 million from social services, I stood at the Capitol to protect the jobs and families that depend on them. Together, we won.
As your Napa representative, I'll prioritize providing the training and tools you need to organize for better working conditions. We'll reinvest in member political training, grassroots organizing, and representation. Together, we'll show those who try to silence us that we will not be pushed around any longer.
I will dream, organize, fight, and win—because together, our voices demand the changes we need.

My name is Jesse Stanton, and I’m proud to run for SEIU 1021 Area Representative for Region E with TEAM Organize2Win.
I work as a 2905 Eligibility Worker at the San Francisco Human Services Agency and have been active in SEIU 1021 for nine years. I've served as Chief Steward in two chapters, been a member of three bargaining teams, and acted as COPE & Labor Council delegate. As Chief Steward, I advocate for members, address workplace challenges, and enforce our contract to ensure dignity and respect on the job. I’m ready to bring this same commitment and focus to the SEIU 1021 Executive Board.
Members deserve leadership on the Executive Board that is accountable, transparent, and committed to equity. I will work to promote fair processes and take back our union’s power in every workplace. With Team Organize2Win, I’m committed to empowering members with the training and support they need to stand up for their rights and win stronger contracts.

I’m Jessica Tran, and I’m honored to run as San Francisco Bay Area Representative on the TEAM Organize2Win slate for SEIU 1021.
With over five years of dedicated service in government, I’m passionate about advancing the core values of SEIU 1021—social equity, positive change, and unwavering support for all members. My commitment to healthier, safer communities drives me, and now I’m focused on fostering a stronger, more supportive union environment.
As former Vice President of the SFO Chapter, a shop steward, and a delegate on the 2022 contract bargaining team, I bring hands-on experience in advocacy and leadership. Currently, I serve as a custodian at SFMTA and am often the first point of contact for members facing workplace challenges. Listening to members and fighting for their rights isn’t just my job; it’s my passion.
If elected, I’ll uphold accountability, transparency, and active member engagement in every aspect of our union. SEIU 1021 must represent members’ needs, champion equitable working conditions, and uphold fairness. With your vote and support, we can ensure our union leadership remains true to these values and build a stronger union—together.

I am honored to run with Team Organize2Win (teamorganize2win.org) for a position where I can continue our shared fight for workers' rights and social justice. Since joining SEIU in 2022, I’ve been dedicated to securing trans-inclusive policies and healthcare at Tides and have organized as part of the union contract negotiating team, motivated by a commitment to collective liberation and equity for all members.
With a background in grassroots and student organizing, I have seen firsthand the power of workers to enact real change. As SF Area Rep, I will advance critical issues that affect us all — raising wages to keep pace with rising costs of living and housing, strengthening workplace protections, and ensuring accessible healthcare amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. I am dedicated to pushing for an arms embargo and permanent ceasefire to halt the genocide in Palestine, to resisting the growth of the prison industrial complex, and to advancing climate justice and health equity. Protecting BIPOC, immigrant, and LGBTQ+ communities threatened by Project 2025 is central to my vision.
Together, we have the power to transform our workplaces and communities. I’m here to keep fighting for us.

Since working at Far Northern Regional Center, I Alicia Ramirez, I have been incredibly involved in the union for SEIU 1021. During my six and half years at FNRC, I have served as Vice President and on my second term of President. I have also, been on numerous boards for the youth such as baseball and football organizations, as well as coaching and refereeing.
As an employee of Far Northern Regional Center, I am a service coordinator serving youth and their families by making sure they are receiving adequate services in a stressful everyday environment. This has allowed me to utilize my skills in listening to members across our community, resolving conflicts, and making sure resources are reaching the people who need them.
Given the opportunity to be part of SEIU 1021 eBoard, I promise to serve the members and be responsive to staff concerns and needs. While in this position, I wish to increase member engagement and expand knowledge and support to all members. For members to know that they fully count on a strong leader who will always make sure their voice is heard and addressed.

-
My name is Desiree Collins. I’m seeking re-election as San Joaquin County Area Representative with TEAM Organize2win to keep fighting for change.
Three years ago, I was elected Chapter Vice President and Area Representative to help change a system where politicians held us down with unfair wages and benefits cuts. With a team of committed leaders, we achieved a historic contract, securing the largest raises in over twenty years for our county—18% over 44 months! Since taking office, I’ve spoken at nearly every NEO, established a hardship committee to support members in crisis, and continue to advocate for Juneteenth as a paid holiday.
As Chapter President, I am part of a committee working to develop safer worksites across our area. Every day, I’m dedicated to lifting up my union siblings, empowering members in their workplaces, and educating everyone on the collective power we hold. My goal is to elevate our membership and leave our area stronger and more united.
The work will never be done, but I’m committed to breaking down barriers and paving the way for the next generation of leaders. Together, we will continue building a union that stands strong for every member.

I'm Tazamisha Alexander, and I'm seeking your vote as your Budget and Finance Committee Representative for Region A, running with TEAM Organize2Win. I believe the diversity of experience in my life has given me a unique perspective on tackling the issues that face our union.
I have a deep love for Solano County, where I grew up. My father taught me that workers must advocate for ourselves and that a living wage would not simply be handed to us—just as the right to vote or freedom was not. I learned about sacrifice, commitment, and fighting for the middle class. As an SEIU 1021 member, I walked the picket lines and showed our community that we can fight back. We cannot sit by and let our communities deteriorate as the wages of working people are nickeled and dimed by special interests.
As your representative, I will work to make sure your voices are heard. Together with TEAM Organize2Win, we'll take back our union, ensuring members feel its presence every day in every worksite. Please support me and TEAM Organize2Win with your vote and let's prioritize investing in training, engagement, and accountability for our members.

I pledge to advocate for Industry, Committee and Member requests to the Budget and Finance Committee for funding. The Local 1021 budget should be a reflection of our commitment to our members and the communities we are proud to serve.
As a member of 1021 Members for Palestine, I believe our Union’s investments should align with our Union values of justice and human rights. We should not be investing in companies profiting from war andoccupation. As a fiduciary, I am accountable to You, the Member, and pledge to execute my duties with due diligence and integrity in the management of the Local’s budget.
